 Cooler weather has arrived in Hickory Flat!  Fall is here, High School football on Friday evenings, College football on Saturday, the north Georgia Apple crop is coming in, Fall festivals are everywhere, and everyone seems to be in better spirits!  We love this time of the year!  We plan to make Hickory Flat THE PLACE to be during the fall!  And to start things off, we have a lot of things planned for October.

 What’s for Dinner?  Most wives and moms really hate to hear this from their family members, and we have a new answer for their reply to this tired question…FROSTY FROG CREAMERY & CAFÉ!  We are beginning a new dinner service from 5 til 9 pm daily and from 11 am til 3 pm on Sunday.  Dinner service begins Monday October 10^th!

 We also went to Ellijay to stock up on apples for the Apple Pies that we bake during the fall every year to serve at the “Frog”…the smells in the kitchen when the oven is full of pies is absolutely amazing! If you like apple pie the way I do, you have to come in for a slice!  (A Scoop of Brown Sugar Cinnamon ice cream completes this little bit of heaven J!) 

 There will be a number of changes to our seasonal menu offerings taking place in October…the Summer Salad will no longer be offered, but our AUTUMN SALAD will.  The FUDGE case will have more flavors available, including sugar free – its all made in our kitchen!

We hope you enjoyed July at Frosty Frog as much as we did!     Beach Week at ‘the Frog’ was terrific!  The music, the food, the laughter, and of course the frog beach balls…when we have another beach week, we will try to get more than 144 of these beach balls – we didn’t expect them to be such a hit with our guests.  Don’t forget to redeem your Beach Bucks during August – we will draw from all of the Beach Bucks used with the back side filled out for $50.00 in Frosty Frog Gift Certificates!

June is bustin’ out all over!   School is out for the summer, graduations have been attended, the days have gotten longer, vacation time has begun, and everyone is looking for fun things to do in the evenings and on weekends.  Frosty Frog Creamery & Café is working to provide you with as much fun in June as possible!  Watch for the unadvertised specials in the restaurant!  Check you email daily for newsbits and specials form Frosty Frog Creamery & Café!  We will be selecting a Facebook Fan of the week every week during June and July with special gifts for these lucky fans!  Check out our Facebook page – Winners announced EVERY week on our facebook page!  (Not a fan yet? Father’s Day, June 19

 The first Father’s Day was observed in 1910. It was the inspiration of Sonora Dodd, who hit on the idea while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon the previous year. Happy Mother’s Day!  Mother’s Day this year will be celebrated on May 8^th; this date has been set aside as a day that we honor our mothers. These wonderful women are the nurturers in our lives that take on many roles. From family medic, to therapist, to healer of broken hearts, to the ‘go to’ person for every issue or problem that we have… mom’s not only come with extraordinary energy but it is that unconditional love that the rest of us admire so very much. Take time out this month and have a long talk with your mom.  Whether it’s writing her a letter, a phone call, an email, a hug in person, or in the event she has passed on, a prayer thanking God for her.  Thank her for all that she has done for you and what she means to you…and most importantly, remember to tell her that you love her.

 This month we also honor the current and former members of the Armed Services that protect and serve our country. December…the last month of the year, the beginning of winter, and one of the very best months for the young and the young at heart!  The Holiday Season is in full swing, stores and homes are decorated for the season, radio stations play seasonal music at least a few times each day, and greeting cards to and from friends and relatives fill our mail boxes. With the ending of the year it is a time for reflection on the events that made 2010 the year that it was.

 What a year it has been!  We have been blessed by you, our customers and guests, with continued support throughout the year.  Your comments and suggestions have helped us in so many ways.  As a promise to you, we will continue to work hard to serve you the very best that we can, and make our restaurant a fun place for every one of you to enjoy! Warmer weather has finally arrived! 

Easter Frog

April is one of the prettiest months as the flowers, trees, and grasses begin showing their wide array of colors…but there is that pollen!  Fortunately, we have plenty of Air conditioned seating inside to get us away from the pollen, and LARGE windows to allow us to enjoy the blue skies and sunshine!  Plus, the food, desserts, coffee, smoothies, and ice cream put a smile on everyone’s face!  We really look forward to seeing you during the spring season.
